The week in Review
This is a collage of the paintings I completed before I left for South Carolina. I have another collage that I will post tomorrow. I think it is fun to see them all together. I am hoping for some time over Thanksgiving to get to painting #75!
Welcome to Miles of Canvas. I set up this blog to document my painting projects. I have been a daily painter since 2005 and I have been posting my paintings on my blog Painting my World. In the fall of 2009 I accepted a challenge to paint the same landscape 100 times. I decided to paint a farm scene consisting of a stand of trees and a field. I chose a small 5x7 format and decided I would try different surfaces and techniques for each variation. Join me as I continue this challenge and read about the latest variation and how it was created. I am working at getting many miles of canvas under my belt and projects and challenges such as these motivate me to paint more often. Paintings are available for sale. For inquiries email me at kemstudios@yahoo.com
I studied art in college but it wasn't until 2005 that I began painting seriously. I have been creating a daily painting and posting to my blog every day and I estimate that I have completed about a mile of canvas or in my case paper! I paint primarily in pastel but I am venturing slowly into the world of oils and acrylics. My small daily paintings are availablle for purchase on my blog or at Daily Painters.com. I am represented by these fine art galleries in the Southeast: High Country Art in Blue Ridge, GA, Bella Vista Fine Art in Asheville, NC and Frameworks Gallery in Marietta, GA.
The photo I am using for the 100 variation challenge is from a photo I took at Crow Creek Farm in Goshen, NJ. I was able to attend a very inspiring workshop there with Stan Sperlak , a wonderful pastel artist. Thank you!
